FOUR VERSES USEFUL FOR EVERYDAY MINISTRY

When I started kindergarten at a small Christian school (a long time ago), I was forced to start memorizing scripture verses. It wasn't too bad at first but by the time I was in 7th grade I was forced to memorize whole chapters. I hated it.

Most of us don't like taking the time or effort to memorize verses.

But as I got older, and wasn't being forced to do it anymore, I began memorizing verses that were meaningful to me on my own.

In more recent years, some of those verses have been very helpful in conversations with co-workers. There have been multiple times when I had the opportunity to witness to them or counsel them using verses that I knew by heart.

Having a few key scriptures on your fingertips is very helpful and makes you more effective as an ambassador of Christ.

My personal technique is to write a verse down on a 3x5 note card and use it as a book mark that I review every time I read.

Below are four verses that I use all the time. I challenge you to memorize them as well.

For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe. Philippians 2:14-15
From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. Ephesians 4:16
