Culture tells us not to discuss religion, sex or politics in the workplace. As a Christian, I am tempted to put my faith in a box while I'm at work. And since I am a creature of habit, I get so good at doing this that I start to think of my faith from a Sunday morning perspective rather than an every day perspective.
Isn't this the case for many of us? We struggle with how to live a life faithful to Christ in the real world.
In the Bible, Daniel faced a similar dilemma. He was raised in a Jewish world but was captured and put into a pagan culture. And he still chose to go out of his way to set aside three prayer times a day. He is one of the most effective and praised men in the Bible. He also had very high stature in the secular world. And he did it all without compromising his faith while spending a lifetime among pagans.
I hope that you, like me, are challenged by Daniel's example. As faithful Christians, we must not separate our faith from our work, school or home life. Don't separate who you are from what you do. Faith is not meant to be put in a box.
